Objectives

  1. 3.1 To continue to develop Nican Incorporated hereafter known as Nican.
  2. 3.2 To provide relevant information in areas of recreation, such as the arts, tourism and sport.
  3. 3.3 To encourage and support the development of effective State/Territory networks.
  4. 3.4 To provide opportunities for formal and informal networks between and within all States and Territories.
  5. 3.5 To promote the value of leisure in the lives of people with a disability.
  6. 3.6 To encourage all levels of Government and Peak Bodies to address the leisure needs of people with a disability.
  7. 3.7 To promote and implement national policy affecting recreation for people with a disability.
  8. 3.8 To provide direct information to people with a disability and/or their carers to enable them to participate within the community.
  9. 3.9 To comply with, and promote the aims and objectives of the Disability Service Act (1986) and the Disability Discrimination Act (1992).
